While I was gone on Saturday, Allison worked on the Deadlifts from the day before. Allison PR’d at 209 Lbs for a 1 RM. She could most likely do more, however, being smarter than the average cat, she realized her form was starting to degrade and any possible gains would be overshadowed by the potential of a stupid injury. Good thinking – that’s what it’s all about. Go hard, set new records, but be smart and fight again another day.
The day prior, I spent an hour with Allison working on her Clean & Jerk. Allison has the basics down, but wanted some finer tuning. We started off very light and easy, going through the motions at bodyweight alone. Then we added a PVC training bar and once she progressed through that with good form, we went to the weighted PVC bar. Allison got her form dialed in and we went up a bit to the 45 Lb bar and then some working sets at 65 Lbs. She looked awesome! We did the majority of the movement from the hang position and she was nailing almost all of them. Once we got her comfortable there, we went from the ground all the way through. Allison did a great job, nice cleans and a great split jerk, with only minor fixes here and there! I snapped some photos of her while we were working on the PVC and then our cheesedick camera died when I went to take pictures of her at 65 Lbs. – another quality Kodak product. Great work, Alley-cat!
